Actually Corry Fariday, (503-393-9111 please call her Jim), from the Keizer Chamber of Commerce was hoping to a "Star Wars" theme this year, but they went with "Toys Marching" instead. and she is a HUGE SW fan, and wants as MANY characters as she can get. This is not about me, but I want to share with all those folks that have helped me "make a difference" over the past 17 years. And CCG/KB was a HUGE part of that, as we spread the smiles. And your presence will LIGHT UP this community, in more ways than one. :D

Jim told me earlier that the "looking for 5 troopers" means needing a minimum to be able to complete the application for the parade, not a cap of 5.

I've been encouraging participation and had people ask me about the 5 part, so I'm posting this per a request from Ralph in an effort to help and trying to be a good steward to my fellow Legion members.

The event has been updated and shows the starting spot for the parade. We will be adding any additional details as they are known. We also need a minimum of 5 people signed up by 9pm on Wednesday, November 30th to be in the parade. We can have signups continue past November 30th, we just need the minimum in order to get the parade application turned in on time.

Looking ahead at weather on Saturday…is this happening rain or shine? I’ll be there no matter what just don’t want to make the trip for nothing if it gets postponed.

  They don't cancel the parade for anything at this point. And all weather pages and apps I go to say it will rain a bit during the day, and possibly a short, light drizzle in the evening. A total of .22" of rain for all of Saturday. However this IS Oregon.  :roll: :wink:  :mrgreen: :heart: :love:

UPDATED with CORRECTED directions.  :roll:
      On another note, did you get any instructions from the Keizer Chamber Jim? They told me to be at the corner of Lockhaven and River Rd at 6PM. Park in the CHASE bank parking lot, (you can get there by going North on River Rd, past Lockhaven, take the first LEFT, take a another LEFT in the ROUNDABOUT and you will find the Chase Bank on that road. And there should, (?), be "shuttles" back to your vehicles. At least those were all MY instructions. We will be in the front of the parade, right after all the police, fire dept, first responders. Then the CCG/RL in front of me n the family, or all around us like an "escort" to take us to "Lord Vader" as I'll be Ol Ben/Tony Kenobi.  :wink:  :lol: :lol: :lol: so we will likely finish around 8, and you can watch the parade, come by the shop, or just split.  :D I REALLY appreciate the support of those who are coming. As I said CCG/RL was a huge part of the difference we have made in the community. From fund raisers for Animal Shelters, Food Banks, Toy's For Tot's. Magic Wheelchair, Women's Shelter, Shriner's Hospitals for Children, Make a Wish, and much more.  :mrgreen:

UPDATE 12/9;

Finally got a reply from the Keizer Chamber this morning;
   "Your parade entry number is #6, the troopers can park at McNary High School and check in at parade check in on the corner of McClure and Lockhaven. Then walk up to where you all will be staged. "which is at the corner of Lockhaven and River Rd, we will be behind all the police depts, fire depts, first responders, and in the 2 front Jeeps of the Jeep club),  It will be best if they park their car at McNary. I am not able to shuttle all of them back. What I would encourage them to do it have a car parked either on applebloosm or weeks near CASA or Abby’s pizza, (where the parade ends). Then they can head back to McNary on the back streets."
     Cant wait to see you folks tomorrow eve.  :D

I’m going to park my pickup towards the end of the parade and my wife will drop me off where we meet up. I have room for five to sit.

Am I reading this post correctly? Are we going to be riding in jeeps? I can’t sit in my storm trooper armor, so I hope there’s a Jeep that I can stand up in.

No, no, no Only my family and I, (as I am the Grand Poobah/Grand Martial), will be riding in the 2 lead Jeeps, side by side. CCG/RL will be in front, (and at the sides of our jeeps?), as escort. Whatever you guys feel like you want to do. I suppose if your all in front both sides of the street will be able to see ALL of you.  :wink:

Wow! I finally got caught up enough the take a breath, thank everyone and update our Keizer Festival Of Lights Parade experience. My family and I had a WONDERFUL time. It was SUCH a wonderful event. We had SO MUCH fun, and put us in the Christmas Spirit like I haven’t felt in years. My kids and GranSons had a blast riding with their “Pop-Pop” as Grand Martial, waving and wishing every a "Merry Christmas", "Happy Life Day", "May the Force be With You", "Have a Nice Day" and "Happy Halloween"????. Now they are now REALLY pushing me to build a Tony's Kingdom of Comics and Collectibles float for next years parade. And maybe even one for KeizerFest. And hope all my friends and fellow troopers can join in. THANK YOU ALL again SO MUCH for the support. ALL of you have an OPEN INVITATAION to join in on ANY of our charity and other fun events, (even if i get too busy to "formally" submit a request through the proper channels). We REALLY love and appreciate everyone who has contributed over those years to help us MAKE A DIFFERENCE together. ???? Remember ANYONE can MAKE A DIFFERENCE, no matter HOW SMALL" ????
                                     Hope you all have a WONDERFUL Christmas, stay safe...............................Tony and the Kingdom family.
