To improve public appearances I thought it would be cool to learn the combat hand signals...

Just FYI...
Here is the real one if you are curious...there are many variations, Paintball, airsoft, ..it seems you and your team pick signals that you know and like and go with those...(I have seen signals for one that mean something else for others.)
