Due to Celebration 5 (CV) being in the time slot that last years picnic was held I am bumping the picnic up to an earlier date.
This event is open to all fans of Star Wars and their families (Cloud City Garrison, Kashyyyk Base, Mandalorian Mercs and Oregon Fanforce), last year we had a good turn out of over 30 people and hope to have a few more this year. The location will be a Spongs Landing in Keizer, OR. There is a big play field that we turned into a driving range, covered picnic area, BBQ pits and a nearby playground for the kids to burn off some steam. The covered area has running water and electrical outlets so maybe this year we can have some tunes or TV. The location is about 40 minutes from Eugene and about 45 minutes from Portland and 3 hours from my home :P. New this year, IF YOU NEED A RIDE LET ME KNOW. I will do what I can to make sure that anyone that wants to go can go. This is an potluck style event and last year we had plenty of food, no trooper will go hungry.

This event is a good time for the newest members and those that want to become members to meet Cloud City Garrison without the hussle and bussle of a troop. Some of us will be bringing armor to use the park setting for pictures, plus I have a new costume to debut and new Ewok blaster.

since the site has electricity we were hoping to get a TV and dvd player there to watch the movie, so we could use those too.

I will be bringing another pot of beans, this time I plan on using beef brisket that I smoked for 8 hrs instead of hamburger.

we are sitting at 50+ right now and last year we had a lot of last minute people show up and a few that were not on the list. I am bringing hot wings too 10lbs worth.

hey Ralph, you wanna start putting up a list/menu of who is bringing what? What kind of photo shoot do you guys want to do? Teddy bear killers in armor action shots :wink:??? Or just plain clothes photos?
I think we can come up with a couple recipes for your chicken Phil :mrgreen:, unless of course you want to cook it.
We still need a big flat screen/DVD player from someone close so we can show movies. There will be horseshoes, golf and poker afterward.
And it would be nice if I could get some help on the cost of the "port-a-potty". We REALLY dont want to use the on site facilities :P
Ive also had a bunch of interest from around 6-8 local non-members who will be stopping by to meet and greet and discuss joining up 8).....................ol tony

I'm certainly happy to be the Grillmaster or share Grillmaster duties again this year. Always fun!
Will bring plenty of bottled water and more TBD.
I think it would be really fun to bring costumes along. Since this will be our largest group gathering, it would be great to do some big group shots for promo materials. And of course some strictly fun shots -- the park has areas that look an awful lot like Endor, so we could get some great ROTJ style shots. :)

Really bummed.... I am not going to be able to make it. We finally sold our home in South Carolina and I will be on vacation (yeah right) packing and moving in SC that week. Late July in South Carolina.... I hope I don't spontaneously combust. See you guys when i get back.Hopefully, I'll have the family settled by late August and get to troop some.

I live in Newberg and got an extra seat in my truck if needed. I won't be able to make it down there until about 1pm though. I also have a 37" flat screen if no one else can bring a tv.

Vicki picked up the frozen boneless skinless chicken breasts (got 40 lbs - ironically on Friday the 30th I'm hosting a BBQ at work for the staff) - while I have my own marinade recipe, does anyone have their own preference? I can marinade several in one type, others in another type(s) and some just plain nekkid for those that may not like marinade - so, anyone have a great marinade they'd like to share?? :D

OK, the portable toilet cost me $104 :roll:, so if anyone can help me out with that I would appreciate it :wink:.

Not sure about an armor party, but do bring it anyway with any supplies so you could work with it while at Picnic. Someone may be able to help give pointers on padding and etc...
As for "White" dogs.. good question.. Turkey or Angus dogs are good.

Thanks. One thing: there are "rough" parts, to the helmet pieces, that need to be cut. Could someone bring, or recommend to buy, a cutting tool I could use? Below is a picture, from the seller, of what I got.

OK, list is updated in the first post by Ralph. We still need paper towels, napkins, tablecloths.
I know of roughly 10 "non-member" guests with interest in membership who said they were stopping by.
With all the things going on, I think we might skip the golf and poker, unless there is still a lot of people interested. Let me know if you are.
Ralph do we have any kind of schedule? Or do we just start cooking and continue throughout the afternoon till, (after we all clean-up :wink:), we armor up, shoot pics, have CCG/KB meetings etc?

UPDATE:
Will be grilling SOME veggies for the vegetarians that might show up, but if you need something "BEEFIER" :lol: :lol: :lol:, like soy burgers/dogs, just bring em and we will cook em :D.
It will be a BYODrinks, so just add a little extra to what you bring for those who forgot :wink:. Might need a little more paper plates/cups/utensils and briquettes.
Park opens at 8AM and closes at sunset. This is gonna be a WHOLE LOTTA FUN! :dancechewie: :dancechewie: :dancechewie:...................ol tony

I think I just did that, we have more fun just kinda 'winging" it. There was a post of a 2:00 armor up/photo op. But we all wont ALL be available for a group photo till the cooking/clean up is done.
The park setting is FANTASTIC for an ENDOR setting, so characters from that would be pretty cool. Just a suggestion since you all have not stated what you want :roll:

Picnic site is scrubbed down and bleach disinfected :mrgreen:! Thanks for the help Vern, (volfireman37) :wink:. Will post directional signs, cut back some blackberry briers around the HS pit, and blow out the area one more time sat morning. Will need some help moving one table over to the grill for a cooking area when we get a few bodies there...........ol tony

The Cloud City Garrison and Kashyyyk Base Picnic (Star Wars Costume Group) was great fun and just enjoyed visiting with everyone. Great to meet new folks too who want to join with the groups. We also had Oregon Fan Force folks come. Thank you all who were able to make it. The weather was perfest plus we did a Photo op in costume and video. Lots of Food. Thank you to the cooks.
