I would like to get this organized early so we can mark our calendars. Saturday August 7th meet at 11am in the Convention Center parking lot. Troop from 12 to 2. Pizza after at Pizza Hut. (Promotional troop only) Who's with me? Does anyone have any promotional bc, flyers, brochures we could hand out?
*remember sandys, jawas and desert denizens, this is a great opportunity to get some pictures on the sand!

This was a LOT of fun last year, and I look forward to being a real TD this year! (Not just a cleanie with a pauldron. :) )

We should try and get a Vader for this one, that being said we might need a few more spotters...lots of people.

Is there a cave this old hermit could get a picture beside???? AND if there's a chance I would love to be part of the "move along" picture montage 8). And I would like to suggest the BIGFOOT STEAKHOUSE instead of Pizza Hut, their grub is AWESOME!!, There is also an AMAZING inexpensive Chinese restaurant, (GREAT WALL), just a little north, (Gearheart) :D.................ol tony

• As for the eating place whatever everybody agrees on. I know not everybody can afford the $12 lunch. (namely me)
most of us like to keep it simple and don't want to hang out too late in Seaside.

funds will be tight for the tree dodger and his 2 jawa's so cheaper is better for me. So we need to acquire a couple of droids by August.

The Great Wall may be a better place if people are on a budget, last time I was there you can get a pretty big plate of food for a bout $8-10. Since I live close to it i can get the low down on pricing if people would like.

Is has just come to my attention that there is a troop conflict with this date. Does anyone have a problem with moving the date up to August 7th?

I may have an idea on where to eat afterwards, my in-laws have a large house and very big yard in manzanita. It's a little out of the way but I could see if they wouldnt mind us BBQ'ing there. People could just pitch in a litle money and we could go gather all the food and drink. And there's also the possiblity of watching a movie :wink: Let me know what people think about this, it may be a little easier on the pocket book.

plenty of time to make sure everything works and is wearable, get fresh batteries...
this is an amazingly fun troop guys. Seaside PD says its a go for weapons. (not real of course). Lots of response from people on this so I guessing this will be even bigger than last years. it just keeps getting better!! and bigger!!!

if things stay the same, I think you can bump me to probable. If I can't troop it, maybe I can come up to take pictures, and I will have the Jawa's with me. If I troop it will be either Scout, Mando Scout or Tuskin Raider.

Yes, confirmed for me! And I believe my Mom, Kathy, will also be a spotter. We had a great time last year, and I'm excited to actually be a real Sandy this year. :)

Yes still a go! Would like to wander in groups if that is okay. Depending on the turnout of troopers and spotters. If there are a lot of us I would prefer to meander in smaller groups as opposed to one big one. Thoughts?

That might work, spread the joy a little more or cause more chaos...lol. I think as long as there's a spotter in each group we should be ok.

I'm open to be a filler Vader. Still working on my costume. It's the Rubies one...Better than no Vader though right? I did the Star light parade 2009, and helped spot at a few events.

Just a final plug for this event. Those who have made it to the last 2 know what I am talking about when I say it is one of the best troops to be involved in. Granted it is a PR troop only, but that may change in the future. The people go NUTS! and it is a much more comfortable troop with the wind cooling you down...and lets face it if you are a sand related character, what better locale for your promo shots? Everybody is welcome and if you get tired of trooping there is always the beach or bumper cars, right? :D

Yeah I remember last year when we were still in the parking lot and had barely even got our helmets on and got swarmed by 30 people. This would be a good troop for new comers or people thinking about joining, gives you a good idea at what your in for. Two years ago this was my first unofficial troop, was just a spotter but I was hooked!

This is a great troop and it looks like Mom and I will be heading over there the night before and either camping with the tent trailer, or staying at a motel.
Michael White is also planning to attend as Tusken Raider!

Dave I know the people that own and operate Funland Arcade. I'm thinking maybe would could get them to help support our troop next year, maybe a back drop set up some where there. We could troop the streets for awhile and then have a set time we are there for group photos and maybe get them to advertise with some flyers.

Video from first seaside troop incase some people haven't seen it. Video doesn't really show how many people were really there, but it definitly attracted alot of attention. I think last year there were about triple the amount of people in town.

I don't think this is a Vader type of troop for once... if it is, then it would have to be approved first. Feel free to hang out and spot though!

I had a blast at this one - might be working on Saturday though - wont know for sure until thurs or friday - might be there might not. if not have a great time in the sand.

This troop started out as a "sand related character only" troop. (You know in their natural environment kind of thing), but quickly became an "any character is welcome" troop. It is mainly to generate a buzz for the CCG, 501st and Rebel Legion.
If anybody has any promo materials to hand out please bring them.

Drizzle isn't so bad but it's usually humid here, so that would bring in the fogging up issue.

Saturdays all or nothing for me, was hard to get this time off, as it is have to go straight to work afterwards. If it was rescheduled I won't be able to make it unless it was in Sept sometime. Weather is actually pretty good here in Sept, but then again we've have a pretty summer down here. I'm cool with what ever decision is made.

I say we go.. I'm used to sweating in my KST anyway, so if it rains, I won't be able to tell either way. I also have a fan in my lid to defog it. The TDs are just plastic and spandex so that really shouldn't matter much.

no armor for me since I am stuck to hicking a ride with a friend of a friend to Eugene and can only bring a backpack. Still working on getting to Keizer from Eugene but we will see if the ride to Eugene pans out tonight.

Michael White was planning to drive up from Eugene tomorrow morning and then my Mom and I would carpool with him to Seaside. I need to call and confirm tonight just to be sure he's still planing on going.
Or is the weather going to reschedule this one on us? If so, we'll need an official go/no-go by at least 8am tomorrow. I'm up for it as long as it's not full rain. If no-go, I'll join in on Paul's troop in Newberg. :)

no ride fell through to Eugene so I am taking the train at 7am and won't reach Salem until 2:30 so I will be out because Tony will be in Newberg until 5pm. I'll just walk from the train station in Salem to Tony's.

This was a lot of fun, but yes there were a LOT of people in town. We got separated at one point, and eventually met back up at the parking lot. :)
