Hi my name is Wes and I live in Springfield,Or and I have been a huge fan of Star Wars for as long as I can remember, I turn 40 this year, and my youngest daughter was born on May 4th and she is also a big fan, I have pre-ordered a Stormtrooper from Avonos, that I will not get until November, and I am just now getting into this. Thanks

Hey, everyone!
I'm Sentinel, aka Micah of Worldbridge Creations, a Star Wars fan with big dreams, and the host of an upcoming costume workshop for Lincoln High School's Star Wars Alliance.
I'd like to talk with you guys about my very enthusiastic group of young fans, what our plans are for costuming, and how you can help us achieve our goal of making a realistic Star Wars LARP for teens and adults in the Portland Metro Area -- but I'll be talking about that in another part of this forum.
Thanks so much for letting me in!

Hi all! My name is Joe, aka Catlord, but Joe is just fine. I have been a Star Wars fan my whole life. First movie I ever saw in theaters was RoTJ. Hooked ever since. I live in Albany, and an a middle school science teacher. I have an ANOVOS Shadow Trooper kit on order and am very excited to get involved!

Hello everyone! Super excited to find an Oregon forum! My name is Mr. Joe, 36 yrs old and Astoria Or is where I rest my head. I have been a starwars fan since I watched episode IV as a kid, had all the toys (wish I kept them, doh). I am married with 4 kids (all girls). Last Saturday I took 2 of the girls to our first Comic-con. Holy cow, was it amazing I felt my inner geek wiggling and just trying to get out. I am new to making the costumes and will be dressing up next year for sure! I don't belong to any groups yet, and will be starting my costume build soon. My first build will be a Jedi with light battle armor, and I'll be building my first saber 100%, then ordering parts to build a second one. My youngest daughter is just now showing interest, asking all sorts of questions ( a lot) but I'm starting her out with the clone wars series on Netflix for now. She still gets a bit creeped out with intense music and some of the creepy "aliens" as she calls them.
Anyways, enough about me. Time to explore this forum!!

Hi! My name is Aja (Asia) and I'm here to help out a friend in the legion that needed some costume pieces. I am not sure how far into the process of joining your group is but I wanted to be able to help him out with his build and make sure it was up to snuff :) My husband and I are big fans and may also join events in the future, but for now I'm here to help.
Thanks!

Hello! My name is Rebelscumchic, aka Mande. I am looking to join the 501st and have a costume in a box in pieces. I'm looking for someone to help me build my stormtrooper costume. I have the helmet done.....almost (paint needed) but none of the rest of it completed. I'm feeling overwhelmed and though it is a dream of mine to have my costume, I'm struggling with figuring out how to put it all together. I've bought the velcro, suspender fabric, etc. If you have any advice or can point me in a direction, I would appreciate it. I made finishing my costume one of my "intentions" for 2017.
Thanks,
Mande
-
Mande,
My best advice is checkout whitearmor.net for building your TK. There is a lot of builds and advice in the StormTrooper detachment(FISD) forum. There is a thread that someone made that lists all the tools and extras you will need to put it all together as well. I'm on that Forum as well as Nukem25rs. Once you read through some of the build threads it will get easier to put together, but i definitely know the feeling of getting started making those first cuts and sizing. you can also start a build thread here/there and post pictures and questions and you will be able to get some good advice!! good luck!

After having a great troop with members of Kashyyk Base at the Mariner's game last night, it was recommended to me that I join your forums as well, to keep an eye out for awesome events going on down south. So, here I am, looking forward to future trooping with you all.

Hi! I'm new here. My name is Fil. I'm interested in building a bounty hunter suit. I was originally thinking Sith Lord. I logged onto their forum no problem. For some reason the BHG forum doesn't like me????.

Welcome Fil!
I had the same issue on the BHG. I sent a PM to Major since the forum never sent me the confirmation email.
Which bounty hunter are you interested in?

Welcome to the CCG forums! The BHG boards can be finicky with email addresses, Daryl is 100% right on about contacting Major on the BHG boards for access. He's the detachment leader and should be able to sort that out for you!

Hello, my name is Ted Cheng.
I am interested in being a spotter for friends and members here at future events. I live in Portland, Oregon and am more of a person who likes to play the support role. :)

Hello,
My name is Christopher Anderson and I am new to the group and forum. I am looking to be a part of this awesome organization as a spotter at first until I can sufficiently build up my funds to start creating my own costume. I have already met with one of your members who was a great resource and I look forward to helping at as many events as I can.

Hello Chris! Glad you made it!

Hey SWO,
Niko here, aka Solokin. I moved here a while back from Mountain Garrison in Colorado. Joined in 2014, and I really want to get back into it. I have an approved IC and TI (ANH), and an OT TK on the way.
I'm also handy with the Photoshops, working as an assistant GWL for Mountain Garrison for the last few years. I also make the trading cards for members as they order them. I can offer my skillz here as well, even if just for backup and such.
Looking forward to meeting and trooping with you all very soon.

Hello all!
My name is Marcel and I am new to this forum, but not new to costuming. As many of the Cloud City Garrison members may know already I am a Steampunk engineer of sorts. I live in Tigard OR and my old stomping grounds are McMinnville, in the Yamhill County region. I've been following the 501st for while now and am very excited to be attempting to join in the ranks. I have only done a couple troops as a Spotter/Jedi (Starlight Parade 2015/Photo-Op Elementary in Mac 2012) and loved it. My next project is a Jedi costume from SWAOTC movie. I have photos and links to where they were purchased, I'll be moving this conversation to where I can apply. Also, I'm very interested in being a spotter for the Evergreen Aviation Museum troop coming in Jan 2018. Thank you for your time.

Hi, I'm Christina. I'm from Garrison Titan up in Washington. I also have family in Oregon and come down a lot to visit. Grew up in Eugene, went to school in Klamath Falls and worked in Portland and Corvallis. Oregon born and raised.
Currently I'm a Jedi with Alpha Base rebel legion in Washington and just submitted my Mandalorian for the Gurreck Clan. I am also working on a Jawa to be submitted to the 501st Krayt Clan.
I'd love to see updates on events the husband and I may be able to roster for while we are visiting family. The titan Garrison was told to contact you guys to get rostered for the Evergreen Air and Space Museum troop for January 27th. We'd love to join you guys! Thanks for thinking of us.

Welcome, Christina! I updated your permissions so you can see our event planning sections. We'll look forward to meeting you at some point down here!

Hello all, my name is Spencer Samuels, and I too am from the Washington division. I have an accepted jedi, mid approval mando, and am looking to build a preatorian guard for the 501st. My wife and I are from Oregon originally and travel down quite a bit.

Hi there. I’m Jennifer. I am new to this but excited for this journey. Im stoked by seeing everything this organization does! I’m working on Mara Jade but wanting to be a spotter until I get it going!
Thanks!

Hi all! I’m Aaron in real life and Aerin Shi in the Rebel Legion. I just had a generic jedi approved in Nov 2017 and I have attended 3 events. I had no idea this forum existed until after I submitted my costume, but I am getting the hang of it (slowly). I live in Portland and have been a fan for my entire life. For the last couple of years I have been attending TSL ( The Saber Legion) after buying my first light saber. Since then I have constructed my own ( no metal smithing or anything like that. Just bought parts and wired one up with light and sound). I also attended the short lived Oregon Saber Academy for a year.
It’s been great fun attending the few events I have made it out to. Haven’t met too many folks yet ( I have shown up in costume and spent little time “back stage”)but I am looking forward to attending some meet and greets and getting to know more of my fellow Star Wars fans.

Hello,
My name is Dennis. I live in Ridfefield, WA. I'm so excited to be here, but also a little overwhelmed. I am very new to all this. I haven't started any builds yet. So i'll be asking a lot of questions as I go along. Although I don't have a costume yet, I am interested in assisting in any role that doesn't require a costume.

Welcome Dennis. We’ve got several members here in Clark County to help you once you’ve decided on a costume.
We can always use trooper-support at our larger events. Be sure to check the spotter board for opportunities to help-out:

Hi everyone! My name is Sarajane, and I am a member of Alpha Base in Seattle. My family and I troop pretty often with our Garrison and have a lot of fun. My husband, Jesse, mostly spots for me (we're working on his costume) and we have a kiddo (6) in the galactic academy with a mini-Rey costume. I myself have a Jyn Erso and an Ewok (named Reesha, I think). I am introducing myself here because Jesse's mom lives in the Portland area so we visit pretty often and thought it would be fun to occasionally troop with you all. Please let me know if this would be possible. Thank you!

Hello everyone! My name is Trevor and I live in Grants Pass. I am an official member of the MMCC, and a Ruusalor with Concordia Clan. For the past year I have been making friends and attending events with local SWO members here in Southern Oregon. Alex C., Kenn C., Cheyenne W., Tyler H., and Ralph and Marnie F. have been amazing to troop with! A few weeks ago I got to troop Medford Comic Con where I met Chris and Judy J., and Charlie W. It was an absolute pleasure getting to know them, they all represent the club very well! Judy mentioned that I might be able to get access to the event and roster pages if I asked nicely. I would be honored if I could join you!

TI 91213 requesting access (however I just moved to reserve status so if I need to go active first I'll get on top of that). I'm in the process of transferring from the Midwest Garrison. What is the best way to contact the CO and GML about the transfer? Thanks!

Welcome! CCG CO here, the Midwest CO can shoot me an email but most of the work is on their end to transfer you here. I believe reserve will let you see events, so we'll get your access updated soon.

Hello.
My name is Dalton Spellman. I have been a 501st Hopeful for about 7 years now, however, I have been a fan of Star Wars all my natural life.
I was drawn to the 501st because of the Amazing Costumes, and all the Good things that it has done; from the appearances to the charity work and so on.
It is one of my biggest ambitions to save up enough money, to eventually put a costume together. I do not have any creative talent, but I know Ill find a way.
Wish me all the Luck in the world.
For Empire and Emperor.

Hi, my name is Robert and live in Corbett Oregon. I'm very interested in starting with a Stormtrooper (Empire Strikes Back) costume. I originally found out about the 501st a few years ago from an old coworker while living in Louisiana. I've lived in 7 states within 12 years and have finally settled down with my family. I completed my undergrad at PSU and am a Phi Delta Theta fraternity alumni which has been nice to have such close friends now living in the area again.
I've found a maker of costumes that I've been informed by others makes the Stromtrooper costume and meets 501st Garrison requirements. If and when I have a costume what is the process to join?

Hi Nick! To transfer, just shoot the LCOGs an email (COG@501ST.COM) letting them know your Name, TKID, previous garrison and then let them know you've moved to our area and wish to transfer. Usually takes them a couple days to sort through and move you over. Let me know if you have any issues or questions and I can help you out. Welcome!

Hi, Missy, can I still troop with you? Unsure how this works.
I'm not ready to transfer yet, as I am planning on going back to troop... but I'm new to both RL and the 501st, so unsure how this is supposed to work :P
thanks!

Welcome to CCG and back to Oregon!
You should have access to our event section to sign up for troops, things seem to be picking up as far as troops go, so you should see plenty of opportunities to troop.
If you want to transfer your membership to Cloud City, just shoot an email to: lcog@501st.com and let them know.
look forward to meeting you!

Hello.
Im Dalton Spellman, I'm 27 years old at the time of Posting this, (I'll be 28 on the 26th), and I am a Massive Star Wars nerd, and a Big Time 501st Legion Hopeful.
Ever since I was 16, I have wanted to join the 501st Legion, but sadly, due to abusive households, money problems, the pandemic, and horrible jobs, my dream has forever been out of reach, until now.
My current plan is to put together an imperial officer uniform, but I am going to need a little bit of help from some experts. So if anybody on these forums has any experience with imperial officer costumes, please contact me. I am looking forward to making a ton of friends in the years to come
-
Greetings, exalted ones. I bring you a gift, these two droids. I’m sure you’ll find them extremely hardworking. :-)
I recently moved to Vancouver WA from San Diego CA. I haven’t officially transferred garrisons/bases yet but I would like to gain access to the forums to find out about future events, and am planning on attending Rose City Comic Con in a few weeks. I currently am assigned to Imperial Sands Garrison and Sunrider Base, and am also on the Legion PR team with the 501stCast. Looking forward to meeting members of the local garrison! I have Imperial Sands swag to trade, for those interested… :-)

Welcome to the PNW, Todd!
You should now be able to see the event section of the forum.
I look forward to meeting you at RCCC.

My name is Tyler and I am 19. I live in Oregon City, OR.
I am trying to figure out how to get started with a costume. Don't know how to figure out pricing since I can't join the 501st Legion until I have any approved costume. My top 3 ideas are a Storm Trooper, Special Ops, or Clone Commander. Can someone give me direction on how to start or be able to mentor me? This is all a bit overwhelming. Are there any build parties in my area I can go to? We can always host at our house if that helps.
Written by Markus (aka Dad) - Tyler's Guardian.
-
Hello Tyler & Dad. Welcome to the Cloud City Garrison. It can be a bit overwhelming at first, I feel ya there. So, each one of the ideas you have are covered by 3 different detachments.
Stormtrooper https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/ (https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/)
Spec Ops https://specops501st.com/ (https://specops501st.com/)
Clone Detachment https://501stclonetroopers.com/ (https://501stclonetroopers.com/)
If I was Tyler... I would figure out what build he really wants to focus on first & join the proper detachment for assistance in constructing the suit. The detachment will have a wealth of knowledge concerning that particular build. As your suit/build will have to be approved here at CCG by a membership officer, the detachment will be the place to start to make sure you build it to proper CRL standards to meet our minimum membership guidelines. Once your build is completed, you can submit for approval in the 501st Legion & the CCG.
We do have members here that can assist, but in our experience it is always best to seek assistance at the detachment level concerning the construction phase. On occasion, we do have build parties that you would be able to attend for assistance in physical construction, but they are pretty random and not on any set schedule. We are all volunteers with very random schedules, so detachment help is usually pretty quick.
Hope this helped set you on the right path, and once again... Welcome!

Hello there!
I'm Justin, already introduced myself on the member introduction forum. Looking to get access to the events page, I am a member of both the 501st and Rebel Legion, though I think I am marked as reserve...it's been a minute since I've been able to make it to an official troop. Hoping to change that soon! Thanks!!!
-
Hey Justin,
your forum settings have been updated so you should see the events section now. FYI- you are listed as active with the RL, and I am still searching for your 501st information.

Hi team,
CX 77255 here. I'm from New Zealand originally but I've been in Ireland these last few years. I thought I'd say hello early as I'm moving to Portland sometime later this year, hopefully by July latest. If theres any extra access I could get now that would be great, otherwise I'll wait until I send through my official transfer.
I haven't amassed a huge amount or Irish merch but I've still got plenty from Outpost 42 NZ so I'll be looking forward to trading and trooping with you later in the year.
Cheers,
Sam

Hey y'all! My name is Maeve (She/Her), I'm 22, I live in Portland. I'm looking to get my foot in the 501st's door by building a standard ESB TK and eventually a weathered ROTJ biker scout or imperial storm commando. Years from now I'm hoping to use ILM's methods and modern materials to create a 1:1 ROTJ Jabba capable of making appearances at cons or parades on a mobile Daimyo throne. Building screen-accurate stormtrooper armor has been my lifelong dream. My love of Star Wars started when I was six years old and my dad showed me the 90s cut of A New Hope on VHS (R.I.P. R2D2's beautiful face). I'm hoping to make some friends and put smiles on faces (mostly my own face). I have lots of questions and will need lots of tips, but I've been saving up for quite some time and I'm finally ready.

Awesome, welcome to Cloud City Garrison! If you haven't visited https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/ yet, be sure to get signed up and start digging through all of the ESB TK builds to really get a good head start on your armor! We'll probably have a few armor parties this summer, so keep an eye out for those if you need help or want to see how others are doing their armor up close.

Yeah I’d love to be at those armor parties. My email is maeveszy@gmail.com if you have the details later on. I’m 6’4” and on the slim side so I was thinking that the “derived” armor parts would be too small. I’m thinking (AM) Dave’s Darkside Depot will probably fit best. Do you know people who use that one?
-
6'3.5 here and if you're slim build you'll find that most armor kits will still fit. Odds of reaching level 2 and 3 are low but it's good enough for basic level 1 approval. It will involve a delicate balance of exposed black fabric.

Hello! Beth here from Kelso, WA. I'm DZ-26648, Narkina Prisoner (but incredibly trustworthy and in no way likely to engage in shenanigans) and was just approved to join the Cloud City Garrison.
This is all very new to me, despite being a long time cosplayer who mainly focuses on Star Wars costumes. I'll share more in a proper introduction post, but wanted to reply here for access to member areas.

Congrats and welcome to the club!!

Welcome,
Most of the Garrison is at Rose City Comic Con. That's a good place to say hello. They'll be there Sunday too in Hall B.

Was nice meeting you today at the RCCC. I honestly wasn't going to suit up Revan today cause the temp was supposed to be really hot. When I came back from checking out some more of the con that I hadn't seen yet and saw your Visas Marr. I was like I so have to get my Revan. Hope to troop more with you.

Hi everyone!
My name is Brenna. I've been a member of Saber Guild Felucia Temple a little over a year now and just got my Jedi Padawan Kara Riada approved in Rebel Legion. I'm excited to join Star Wars Oregon as a member of Kashyyyk Base and start trooping with everyone!
