Greetings everyone! I have costuming for years, but have wanted to make Stormtroopers armor for years. I've read about the ch aritable work of the 501st and feel it's great motivation to complete something.
I would really like to make my own armor. I don't mind buying a helmet, but really love a challenge. It would be great to talk to others in the area that have made their own. I'm in Beaverton.
I also want to make an Imperial Officer uniform.
Looking forward to this adventure.

welcome. You are in good company.

Welcome, Christina! Making your armor from scratch is a real undertaking. I'm sure some of the folks here will be able to provide you some advice and point you to other resources. Good luck and have fun!

I'm early in the research stages, but I'm considering buying after checking several how-to sites. I hate body casting. I'm a short woman (5'4) so I'm really torn. I am also drawn to the Shadow Guard. I'll nail something. Since I can sew I'll probably start with the Imperial Officer uniform.

Hi Christina, welcome to Cloud City! When you're ready to go Stormtrooper, head over to whitearmor.net (http://whitearmor.net) and check out the list of armor makers in the 'Getting Started' section. No sculpting or vacu-forming necessary. Certainly no body-casting. Putting together a ready-made armor kit can be challenging enough!

Christina,
Mindie (Carpe Mindiem) is 5'5 and has a TK. We trimmed it up quite a bit to fit her properly, but it looks pretty good. You are welcome to check it out in person sometime if you'd like.
