Announcing the first ever 501st/Rebel Legion troop in Klamath Falls!  

NOTE:  Before you think, “No way, too far!” please know Klamath Falls is an easy (admittedly long) drive from the I-5 corridor.  Simply take I-5 south of Eugene to 58 to 97 and you are there after several hours driving through nowhere!  Anyone who can make it can stay at my house - even for several nights, if necessary.  We have plenty of space including the Star Wars guest room!  My house has four bedrooms, three baths, three couches, and ample floor space for sleeping bags.  I will also feed you, so your only expenses will be gas money and time!  I must also mention I live at the stunning Running Y Resort (http://www.runningy.com/) with free access to the pool and jacuzzi!  Party at Lufta Shif’s house post event!  Crater Lake National Park and Lava Beds National Monument (photo shoot??) are only an hour away and there is also golf, fishing, and hiking!  Make it a weekend, much like I do when I trek up to Portland for events. Use my house as a base for your mini-vacation!  Oh, one more thing - allergy sufferers:  I have three indoor cats!  

What: Scarecrow Row & Fall Festival, sponsored by the non-profit Klamath Falls Downtown Association
Where: Main Street, Downtown Klamath Falls
When: October 23rd 2010 (Saturday) from 11AM to 4PM

Details: The Klamath Falls Downtown Association is a group of business owners, professionals, and property owners all working together to create, maintain and promote a vibrant downtown community. A children's costume parade at begins at 11am, trick-or-treating from storefront to storefront is from 12pm to 2pm and other events are planned from 12pm to 4pm. Live music, food and other family oriented events abound!  I have spoken to several association members and they said our presence would greatly help attract families and kids to this event.  They are willing to make a donation to the charity of our choosing and have offered a secure area in a clothing shop for us to change and store our gear.

WOW Marjon. Since I have had to cancel my only vacation next weekend I might just have to see if I can break away for this. It sounds like a BLAST ! And I know you would be an awesome host. I grew up in Kfalls. The running Y where he lives is really awesome. Beautiful housing/resort. If my TK gets finished by then I will certainly go.

This was so much fun. Marjon, Thank you for hosting us at your home and being the lead Event coordinator of the Groups in Southern Oregon. Gang, we have represented The State. The Mission was a success. From a Parade, walk, handing out candy, Pictures, and a Tram ride (Transport), and a charity was helped.. Well done troopers. BTW... it did not  rain on us.  The weather was wonderful , but cold.  I will put the picture album up in gallery.  Thank you again for all who came down to troop this.
