Hello from Clackamas
« on: January 26, 2025, 07:31:06 PM »
Hi all! My partner, who is a part of the Mando Mercs, bullied me into finally joining her in one of these costume clubs! She already hooked me up with some Inferno Squad Kit pieces (front and back chest piece, the piece for the front of the chest, gloves, and a couple of small detail pieces) and I’m looking forward to assembling the rest and joining in the fun. A bit about me; I’m an archaeologist by trade and a lifelong Star Wars fan. I also love video games and miniature wargames, especially if those are Star Wars.  I’d be happy to answer any other questions but I look forward to meeting everyone. Thanks!

Hello and welcome! Lots of Warhammer and 40K folks in here. Some of us have been playing some Kill Team once in a while. What kind of miniature wargames are you playing?

Anyway, welcome to the forums! Excited to see your costume and feel free to reach out for any help or advice you may need!

Thanks! Currently I’m doing Shatterpoint and MESBG but I have plastic for a LOT of different games that I’d love to get to table. Actually, my Halo Flashpoint starter gets here today so that’s exciting! I also have a decent amount of Imperial Guard for 40k but I’m less interested in that ruleset lately…but I’m down for some OPR using those models.

I run Sisters of Battle normally.  Have lots of Slaanesh demons, some Tau that was for the Ordo Fanacticus 4 person team event but guess thats done now with that format.  Working on Necrons for future 40k narrative events.  I have some Soulblight Gravelords for AoS.  A bunch of shame to start Old World again with Tomb Kings.  Then even more shame with a load of Imperial units for Star Wars legion.  I think I have about 1 of almost everything still in the boxes.

I ended up painting my buddies 40k army for Vegas which is Space Marines.  Working on his Tyranids and guard when I get through everything else.  Then we talked about making Orks with looted eldar stuff for future stuff.

Oh sick! A lot of this sounds EXTREMELY familiar. I recently grabbed The Old World Tomb Kings box, though I’ll be honest in that I’m more interested in using it for Oathmark than the GW game. I also have a small number of Nighthaunt that I’ve been meaning to get to the table…been really wanting to try Spearhead once I get that box. I have some Dark Angels kicking around here too but I’m planning on getting rid of all my SM stuff soon since I haven’t touched em since 2011. Just today the new Halo Flashpoint starter was delivered so I’m pretty excited to try that out. So much of what I have is unassembled or unpainted or both. One day…right? Xp
