i was in portland back at the beginning of october, the 6-9th to be exact.  on the 7th i happened to meet lord vader, a stormtrooper and a tie pilot in front of a comic book store near the hollywood theater.  (i'm from montana, so i don't know the geography very well.)  i'm guessing they were part of this garrison, and if they are, i'd like to thank them.  i've known about the 501st for a few years now, but actually meeting a few members on a troop inspired me to get involved.  i dove in and started on one of the more difficult/expensive costumes, boba fett (i guess i could say that i'm about 8% done).  someday it will be done enough to my satisfaction to attempt to get a bh designation and join my local garrison (alpine garrison, cuz i'm in montana).  but anyway, once again i'd like to thank the men that i met that day.  *here's a link to a pic of me with the pilot and stormtrooper:

thanks again, it's been a long time since i've felt this inspired about, well... anything.  it's a good feeling.

Yes, that was the Fanfilm festival. We were trooping TFAW after the Fanfilm festival was over with. And yes, boys and girls, it was all about me!

that was going on at the same time as the H.P. Lovecraft film festival.  had i known that there was a sw fanfilmfest going on that day, i would have ducked out of the horror movies to show some star wars love.

Lovecraft was after our gig..... We had the use of the theatre until something like 1pm. The Lovecraft people were griping at us to get out of the dressing rooms... or rather they were griping that we were still there. We had the use of the facilities until 1pm and were out by 12:45??? Yeah, those Lovecraft folks were jerks!
