RIP Sweet XBOX 360
« on: April 25, 2008, 11:25:13 PM »
My XBOX 360 died tonight - 4/25/2008

I'll need moral support over the next few weeks guys, especially with GTA 4 coming out this tuesday.

I feel somewhat responsible, as I was the last one to play it....the poor thing couldn't take the strain of Meeko's terrible guitar on Black Hole Sun.  Not even my awesome drumming could save it.  :(

Everybody I know that owns one has had to ship it back.  Don't feel to bad the turn around on mine was only about a week.  Mine died about 2 weeks after the warranty expired.  1 more reason to hate microsoft.  My Wii broke too, but nintendo was much better to deal with.  They sent me a brand new Wii then I shipped my old one back in the same box.  No wait time, it was nice.

UPDATE:

After searching for the phone number to call, my box is past warranty, but I heard Microsoft made some extension, I found a trick to get some more life out of the dead system.

I wrapped the XBOX in a Towel for 20 minutes while powered on, then rebooted it, and IT WORKED!!!

I hear that this doesn't get much more life out of it, but it let me play it tonight :)

I'm calling microsoft in the morning.

Xbox 360 extended it to 3 years.  All you have to do is call them and they can tell when it was manufactured by the serial number.  It happened to about 8 of my buddies and they got a brand new updated one in about two to three weeks.

Nintendo Wii... The arch-enemy of the couch-potato video game player.

If you ever get the Zelda game, though, don't post it or my wife will become your new best friend...

I gotta agree with Big Rob, here..... Wii Bowling is where's at. Ok, I am all about the Wii baseball, too. Wii Tennis isn't so bad, either.
