There are other LFL-sanctioned events happening the same day. As it is, those events won't be having nearly the numbers you will have down there. I think it is safe to say that you will have a good showing for this event.

If anything, the LFL-sanctioned events need more rallying than this one - which is a lock!

LFL is our bread and butter. Let's not rally too much away from their sanctioned events.. as it is, we don't get all that many up our way. Not trying to derail this thread, just trying to have balance for ALL events!

Other events smother events - this troop is one that I make every year - because it is a blast and Allan hooks us up great. The people are always friendly and I get a kick out of riding the elcalator up and down while in armor. Lat year we even went over to the Halloween store and pretended to be statues and then sacred the heck out of people.

I have a much closer relationship with Allan than I do to LFL, and am more than happy to support the Eugene folks in this troop.

Can't wait Allan - see you Saturday

The other 2 events on Oct 10th are not LFL sanctioned. So I was a little confused by you saying LFL is our bread and butter and that it is a lock that we do them before any other type events in our garrison. Since they don't pay our expense to do these other events. We volunteer our time to do them.  The Pottery Barn and DK are 501st led, but not LFL. I just wanted to clarify.  Just as the Eugene Event is 501st led thru CCG and KB.

So who do you think contacted the 501st (and the Mandalorian Mercs, by the way) for appearances at these events? That was LFL, so yes, Allan, they are - or were- officially sanctioned LFL events. At least, I know that Pottery Barn was a media blitz put on by the franchise and wanted the respective groups to participate in these events.

When I say bread and butter, I mean it is those events that are what keep the legion going. It is even in our Charter that we are to support franchise-sanctioned events. That is one of the liberties we have when it comes to trooping - anything that supports the franchise, charity, or the fandom. It is my impression, that it is to be in that order, too.

Gallery up and Pictures in. Thank you.

WOW, What can I say. You guys ROCKED the Mall.  Thank you all who came down and made this a Wonderful Success. The mall staff and security were AWESOME. Thank you Starla and Carlos for bring Sub sandwiches.  The film festival had proceeds going to Greenhill Humane Society and Food bank.  Many Pictures took and hope to get them up soon.  BIG Thanks Rick, Marjon, Greg C., Karyn, Paul, Christy, Carlos, David, Michael W., Tony G. and Myself.
Some of us went out to dinner; relaxed and celebrated  Karyn's 40th Birthday and she was touched. Marjon got her a little chocolate cake for dessert.
The whole event went very smooth from beginning to end.  We trooped from 12:00 pm till 5:00 pm.  A long troop but it was a BLAST.  The waves of folks came and it seemed to go fast. everywhere you turned .. more people.  then it would be calm, and then more would show.  You guys were great.  You make this Garrison what it is.. A wonderful family.

Peace, Allan

WOW people :D! That was a fun troop. Allen hit the nail on the head, "FAMILY" is exactly the way I feel about all youze guys . When we do these troops, and brighten up a kids day, it really fills me up and keeps me going in these tough times. Knowing that we REALLY MAKE A DIFFERENCE :deadhorse:, and have a BLAST doing it with good friends 8).
Happy birthday Karen and Susan. Sorry i couldnt stick around, I really wanted to, but the Cherry City Derby people were happy to see me there, (even though I was late ). Big thanks to Starla and Carlos for the subs. Good times and funny pictures, will see you all Wednesday for more fun and smiles :D.....old tony kenobi
