So I finally decided to download Tapatalk, but can't seem to get my password right. Was going to retrieve it but can't work out how to do so.

On your computer, log out of this forum and then click the Login link to go to the login screen. Click the Forgot your password? link.

I may have to get on to the actually computer, but I didn't see an option for that.

Try hitting the login button or link without entering anything. That should take you to a login page that has a "forgot password?" link in the middle of the screen. I was just able to do this on an iPhone using Safari, hopefully that will work for you too.
